Engaging Children’s Curriculum Details Rebbe’s Wedding

Principals and deans of Lubavitch schools across the globe are about to present a fascinating new curriculum to their students as chassidim worldwide prepare for the upcoming 90th anniversary of Yud Daled Kislev – the wedding anniversary of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin.

The interactive lessons – using storytelling, video, photographs, and personal diaries – will give children of all ages an opportunity to relive the events of this special moment in the history of dor hashvi’i. As with the successful curriculums created for Hei Teves and Chof Beis Shevat, which were presented in over one hundred schools across the globe, the curriculum was developed under the guidance of Rabbi Elkanah Shmotkin at JEM, and written by Mrs. Devorie Krasnianski, in conjunction with Vaad Or V’chom Hahiskashrus. The project was spearheaded by Rabbi Mendel Shemtov.

The goal of the initiative is for the children to appreciate the importance of this date and to apply its lessons to their lives through joyous celebrations and through giving the Rebbe and Rebbetzin spiritual “wedding anniversary gifts” of Torah and tzedakah.

On the occasion of the wedding anniversary of the Frierdiker Rebbe the Rebbe noted several times how the wedding of a nosi is of utmost importance to the entire generation and indicated that a spiritual gift from chassidim is appropriate and encouraged. Throughout the years (especially in honor of milestone anniversaries), chassidim would celebrate Yud Daled Kislev by giving brachos and giftsof Torah and Tzedakah to the Rebbe. The Rebbe thanked the chassidim, expressing his appreciation for these gestures and reflecting on how special this hisorerus was.

In honor of this special anniversary, each and every child will be able to relate to this day in a very relevant way, engaging thousands of Lubavitcher children in a meaningful experience of hiskashrus to the Rebbe.
