The production team is currently putting the finishing touches on a new release, the Rebbe’s farbrengen of Yud Alef Nissan 5733-1973.
This farbrengen marked the Rebbe’s seventy-first birthday, and in its duration, the Rebbe challenged the Chassidim to establish 72 new institutions over the coming year. The Rebbe also addressed fundamental issues such as the purpose of man on this earth, faith in God after the holocaust, and gave a landmark exposition on the Rambam’s approach to the coming of Moshiach. In all, the farbrengen is not to be missed.
The video is completely restored, with new audio and video footage being released for the first time. The original video recordings of this event, courtesy of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch and Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, had large sections sections missing at times, as well as background noise. Thanks to the hard work of Yossi Margolin, the audio was replaced with two other sources recorded by WLCC and Aharon Goldstein, and the missing sections filled with video stills.
The project was spearheaded by Mendy Greenberg, who oversaw the project from the beginning research stage all the way to reviewing the final product. Assistant editor Yisrolik Kievman also deserves much credit for the 5,347 subtitles of the farbrengen.
The film is almost ready, and is expected in stores following Purim. We look forward to shipping it out!
