“Foundations in Focus”

Ashreinu’s  “Foundations in Focus,” the special platform for women to learn, listen, and live with the timeless words of the Rebbe, is starting to make waves.

Three times a year the Rebbe would speak specifically to women. Before Rosh Hashanah, at the annual N’shei u’Bnos Chabad convention, and to the graduating girls of Beis Rivkah School. Additionally, from the 50’s through the 70’s, the Rebbe would dedicate a talk during farbrengens to speak to and about women; regarding their responsibility, uniqueness, and mission.

The Foundations In Focus initiative publishes weekly an excerpt from one of those talks, with a transcript of the talk and an English summary. The talk is available on Whatsapp or email.

Over 700 women and girls are subscribed, and in numerous schools the talks are listened, learned and discussed in class.

In a recent article in the Nshei Chabad Newsletter Mrs. Rivka Slonim, Shlucha and director of education at the Chabad Center for Jewish Student Life at Binghamton University, extolled the project: “It’s one thing to read a talk; it’s quite another to listen to the Rebbe’s voice. When you listen to the Rebbe speak you can hear the tone and inflection, the “koch” (passion), the Rebbe pouring his soul into those words. Through listening to these talks, our souls can connect to the Rebbe’s in a whole new way. We take these talks for granted in Chabad, but let us never forget: The Rebbe was the first Jewish leader to teach and share Torah in a public fashion exclusively to women.”
