Forty years ago in August 1976, Israeli Paralympic athletes came to visit the Rebbe. In his address, the Rebbe laid out a fresh and deep approach to the plight of individuals with physical handicaps and special needs.
The 1976 World Paralympic Games were held in Toronto, Canada. A large Israeli delegation attended – most of them ex-IDF soldiers wounded in Israel’s battles. During their trip, they flew to New York to meet the Rebbe, who received them with distinctive honors.
