When Rabbi Shalom Dovber Schneerson founded the legendary Tomchei Temimim yeshiva, he called on the students to enlist in the “Battle for the House of David,” by spreading the light of Chasidism throughout the world. Many years later, on the day marking his birthday, the Rebbe declared in a talk that this mission is relevant to every Jewish man and woman, regardless of background, affiliation or education.
