Resource Page: Yud Tes Kislev Unity Initiative

This Yud Tes Kislev, Chabad communities worldwide will unite by viewing and learning a special sicha of the Rebbe.

Yud Tes Kislev marks the day the Alter Rebbe was freed from prison. It was a watershed moment in Chabad history and served as the impetus for the opening of the floodgates of spreading Chassidus throughout the world.

In a sicha at the Rebbe’s Yud Tes Kislev farbrengen 5742 (1981), the Rebbe addressed the theme of the Alter Rebbe’s letter he penned after his release. In the letter, the Alter Rebbe focused on the topic of peace. Why didn’t he choose to emphasize self-sacrifice for Torah and Judaism?

In this wide-ranging talk on the anniversary of the Alter Rebbe’s liberation in 1981, the Rebbe pinpoints the best way to accomplish our God-given mandate.
