In the summer of 1982, Israeli forces entered Lebanon for operation “Peace in the Galilee “. At the behest of the Rebbe, Tanyas were printed in all the areas where Israeli troops were positioned, even the capital city of Beirut which had yet to be taken.
This exciting JEM production documents the events surrounding the drive to print these Tanyas, along with the Rebbe’s constant guidance and encouragement.
Featuring exclusive footage and first hand accounts, the film relives the daring and dramatic efforts of those involved in this unprecedented undertaking.
More than a printing job in enemy territory, the printers brought the soldiers a much needed boost in morale and spiritual might, as Tanyas were ultimately completed in 15 different Lebanese locations.
The presentation’s release coincides with the 19th of Kislev, the day the author of the Tanya, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, was freed from prison for his spreading the teachings of Chassidus, which was viewed by Russian authorities as “counterrevolutionary activity”.
As the film explains, the Rebbe’s initiative to print Tanyas world-wide was a way to ensure these spiritual wellsprings would conquer even the darkest corners of humanity.
