A Special Lag B’omer Event Outside 770

This Wednesday evening, hundreds of children and their parents will join together in front of 770 for a viewing of the Rebbe’s Lag B’omer parade. On Eastern Parkway, at the exact spot where the actual parade took place, schoolchildren from all over Crown Heights will join together to listen, answer questions, and win awesome prizes. A special raffle will be made on a coin minted for the 1990 Lag B’omer parade.

The Rebbe and The Author

Herman Wouk, Pulitzer Prize winner and author of several bestsellers, passed away at 103. Mr. Wouk, an observant Jew, had several interactions with the Rebbe. In 1972, he conveyed President Nixon’s blessings on the occasion of the Rebbe’s seventieth birthday, and his visit to the Rebbe in the winter of 1975 is recorded on video. As well, the Rebbe corresponded with him in writing, taking an active interest in his work.

“It’s Never Too Late”

This Sunday, the 14th of Iyar, is Pesach Sheni, the second Pesach. In temple times, Jews who were unable to bring the Paschal offering before Pesach were given the chance to make it up, by bringing it a month later on Pesach Sheni. Hear the Rebbe point out two powerful lessons we can apply to our lives, learnt out from this special day.
